South Africa | Don't know about the desease presure for soy/canola rotation as this is our first season of canola. We had lots of aphyd problems on the canola, had to spray twice, no other problems so far. On soy beans our worst desease is soy rust and we do a preventitive fungicide spray, which usually see reasonably good results. we also get deseases such as sclerotinia and ascocaita (spelling?), also some fusarium root rot and very seldom some SDS. Soy yields in pounds (I'm not sure about the conversion to bushels) are 5 year avg: #2230/ac Dry land and #3570/ac for Irrigation. Our highest yield on one dry land field 93ac was #4674/ac. Our soil differ a lot over one farm and we need a lot of tile done to increase our yield (soil drainage is a big problem on most parts) to what that one field yielded. | |
