 By tightening the support arm more then what it's naturally supposed to be you would be putting the elbow assy. in a bind. I recently had to loosen another guys 1660 support arm that he had tightened to much and he couldn't get to swing all the way back in as it was binding and creaking like crazy. He was trying to get it to set in the cradle as he didn't realize or think about that is was easier and better to just lower the cradle.
