Subject: RE: C.I.H. 2188 Rear Tires

Montgomery City, MO
4.4 miles an hour does not sound to bad to me.  If the conditions were bad, 4.4 would seem great.  I was unfortunate last year and had to use tracks on a few hundred acres, had a very nice neighbor rent his GRIPs to me.  They worked awsome, but are very slow.  3's in second and 9 in third.  Second was painfully slow, and in tough going my 2188 didn't like third at all.  At the time I was looking at buying a set and I wanted the soucys just for more ground speed.  If I ever have to buy a set I think I will go that way and just harvest in second gear.
