SE MN | There was a feeder deflector plate available for 23xx combines with field tracker that could help knock any kernels being carried back around by the feeder slats down into the front of the feeder rather than throwing them out in front of the head. Part number is 87409088. It bolts on the front of the feederhouse. There may have been a service bulletin your dealer could reference. I think it is about $80. We installed it on our machine prior to last season, and did not have any issues of corn being thrown out the front of the feeder, but we did have issues in years prior to that. I should say that the corn was much wetter last year and did not shell near as much in the feeder compared to usual. This year will be a good test for it as we have much drier corn. | |
