Subject: Glencoe soil saver?

Danville, Illinois
I am looking for experience with an older glencoe soil saver. I am currently a small time hobby farmer running a 4430 with a 7 shank soil saver. I went to the 3" single piece moldboardd to allow me to put the soil saver in as deep as it will go. I also have 5 s-tine sweeps mounted behind to help level off the ridges. What I want to do is try and break up the plow sole as much as I can and also mix in lime and fall fertilizer. I plan on notilling corn right on top of this in the spring but I dont think it is going to be level enough. Should I switch to just strait spikes instead of the moldboards and do away with the s-tines? I know it is hard trying to do ripping with this small equipment but its all I have. Also I will have spring preplant ammonia custom applied.
