WCIN | Things worked out pretty well changing the rear main seal. had everthing down to a few bolts before the boom truck showed up to move the pump stack and remove the engine gearcase. Now I might know why some prefer to remove the engine---the flywheel is an unhandy thing to install in the space.
I did put more silicone on the plate between the engine and the engine gearcase, but not at the bottom. I'm thinking I'll see if something is going to leak later--very bottom for about 1". Replaced the engine gearcase input seal aswell.
