Subject: RE: Cat engine leak

Iowa

The typical leak is the cam gasket. It is between the front cover and the alum. hsg that the cam rides in. Big job to fix, lot of teardown. May need updated, too.

Could also be, cracked front cover. If that support rod (between upper, left side of front cover and cylinder head) has been loose or is cracked. When broken or loose, it put too much stress on the Alum. front cover, where the a/c pump is mounted, and it breaks/cracks the front cover.

Could be leaking front cover, to the block itself, that job it the same as the cam gasket job.

Need to steam it off and found the area where it is leaking.
