I've run into 3 combines now that had new moisture modules put on that had the polarity reversed on the wiper motor. Symptoms were blowing fuses and lack of real moisture changes. The motor was turning the wrong way and grinding up the corn. I even had one motor that got burned out. When you take the auger out, there is a bunch of ground up corn in the chamber. Just wander if anyone else ran into this around the country.
In some combines, the unit is mounted on the opposite side of the clean grain elevator which requires the motor to run in the opposite direction. Sounds as if there was some confusion somewhere along the line about the correct rotation.
We've had instances where we've had to replace the motor and we need to be certain that the rotation is correct. If it is backwards, we simpy pop out the pins on the motor connector and reverse them. |
