Subject: old mopar specialists needed

'69 Dodge D 500 truck died on the way home tonight. Started by the lights flashing and engine cutting out, then it finally died. It is out cold, no lights, no cranking, nothing. Is this caused by the resistor in ceramic failing? Mounted on the firewall on drivers side. Too late and dark to diagnose or get a meter going, so thought I might get some ideas posted on here before morning.

TIA
