CAT 3406 engine drain plugs are 50 ft lbs.

 Even though, it uses a 1 1/2" socket, to fit.

It is not 3 seconds of rattling with a 1/2" air impact gun, like so many people do!==== Way Over-torqued.



Indeed.. YIKES!! There must be a lot of Service Guys that wonder HOW you strip such things.. I've always felt pretty good about "bottom it and an 1/8 of a Turn or so.."

I have NEVER stripped anything that I did tighten By Hand for sure!! SPEED KILLS.. :-/
