Can someone help me with the adjustment of the front driver side door on a 2002 Ford Taurus??

I had to replace one and it seems very hard to reach the bolts that hold the hinge to the car frame? I think that is what I need to do, or the door that I have is off by a 1/2 inch?? Thanks
