Near-north Ontario, French River | Correct , its all about controlling the physical product. Elevators around here don't do the free storage thing, but the processors ( ADM ) do occasionally .They offer up free storage, but once they get physical control of the grain there's no incentive to raise basis levels What appears to be 'free' storage ends up costing those that put their grain in through lower/stagnant basis levels until the holder of the grain uses up the grain that's in 'free ' storage. |
