SW Ohio | Well I finally got DSL hooked up, man is it nice. Got a modem from Embarq(the phone artist formerly known as Sprint), plugged it in and off I went. Bought a Zoom x5 5654 modem to hook up the second puter and hit a wall. Either puter cannot find modem or sometimes modem cannot find dsl, never did get connected with the Zoom, ran the install that came with modem, stalls out half way through, tried to manually set it up and still nothing, set both modems on my desk on same puter, phone company one works fine( I am here are I not?)Zoom does nothing.
Question is..... does Embarq have some screwwy system that only their modem works on or am I doing something wrong???? Did I get a bum modem???? Can you get a splitter and a 100' cat5 cable to run both puters on one modem(seldom have both online at the same time)?? | |
