Hagen Brothers farms,Goodrich ND | Had a conversation with the young parts guy at the local NAPA. This guy is a sharp parts guy, because he is also a pretty good mechanic and understands how things work.
Got to talking about how on GM you used to be able to buy just the pump for under $100, while this newer stuff comes only as a $300-400 ? in tank pickup, pump, sender unit.
He said he compared the pump number in the later full assembly with the old seperate pump. He said the pump is the exact same number. He said he has carefully pried that plastic assy apart enough to slip the old pump out and a new one in. He said it worked fine for 1/4 the price.
