Subject: Re: an opinion on hay production

ecmn
climate has a huge impact! we got a lot of hail damage and are mudding out second crop, a few miles to the north they are done with 3rd crop. we havent had a stretch of dry long enough to do anything. drying hay in the rain forest is a tough job.

my head hurts after reading that. all i know is that 10 days after grass starts to head out the hay will head out, as soon as i scout buds we are cutting, if its for pile we chop in a couple days on first crop, if for baling its a week to dry. just go grab a hand full and feel it, does it feel like pile haylage, harverstore haylage or baling.

28 days later no questions asked hay is cut again, if for pile its chopped the next day or two, baling only takes 5 days to dry. same for 3rd and if we can get a 4th crop.
