Mascoutah, Illinois | My call was a shade early. We hit the highs in corn and soybeans two days later and have retested them three or four times. If basis hadn't improved so much in St. Louis, it would have been the right call for the time being. My gut was telling me basis was going to get crushed with elevators full here and not taking any corn under 10% damage. Lots of blending needs to be done in our area after last year's mess. I missed on the basis part of the equation after the USDA Report came out. | |
