Subject: RE: How many still plant conventional corn hybrids?

We planted all conventional in 2010, a lot from Cornelius hybreds in Andrew, IA and some from Trelay. You are right, they are harder to come by. I don't know what Trelay will have this coming year, but Cornelius has 7-8 in a range from 90-114 days. They also have some more straight Liberty corn.

In 2009 we still had some continuous corn that had a corn borer root worm gene that is not acceptable to the main corn market here. My market for that corn temporarily closed in mid June and we are sitting on about 4000 bu yet. We will find a market some place around here but it appears it will be at a discount.

Don't tell me that many disregard the rules and take it to market anyway because I know that they do. My son and I both agree that we will not do that.

Hopefully others will chime in with other suppliers.
