Bought a Trimble GL720 the other day. I have not used a transit this advanced before. I read the book trying to figure out how to set the slope on it. It is made to set in % slope. I am guessing if you have a ditch you want to drain and it is 100 feet long and you want 1 foot of drop i would set the transit for 1% slope. Is this correct. Also is there any easy way to calculate the slope(tricks of the trade)? Thanks
