central ILL | We run straight fluted rolls on our JD 893 head and i built a wedge kit for it. It runs flatter and leaves stalks about 6 in. tall. Had a red head for years before that and they didnt do any better job. Was going to put knife rolls on but neighbor of mine said buy the straight flutes and build wedge kit. We have a 4 in. wedge at the bottom of the feederhouse. We chisel everything with a DMI 730 and also no-tilled a little this year and no problems with trash. | |
