had a phone call with a customer this morning.  He told me that he figured they would be starting to chop Aug 30th.  I asked if they had looked at it closely.  (Not really.) Well, I decided to take a drive up and see it.  Corn was all dented - no moisture in the kernal. I pulled a couple of stalks, chopped them up, and brought them home and ran them on my Koster tester.  2 samples...... both were 65%.  I think they will be chopping sooner than Aug 30th.

2+2... My experience is that if your corn is all dented, you are definitely under 70%, even if the stalks look green.
