I have a series III N6 and love the old thing. It cuts 900 acres plus every year and have very little problems. This year a sickle head and an ac compressor. Last fall an accel roller bearing. It has been taken care of well and that is the main thing about any machine. I have seen green ones that would not stay in the field. As for the combine its self the late ones (serisIII) were good machines. They all have the quirks, it is knowing the machine. The resale is lower and thats fine with me. People talk crap on them and that lets me buy them alot cheaper. We use to have two 7700s jds. One was one of the best machines we ever owned and the other would have been burned if we would have had a match, many times. My next machine will be an R62. Found one last week that was a 2000 with 1900 hrs with a 30 foot head for 55. Ya it was sold.
