| Important note. Bleed the pressure off the rail before you take the regulator out. There should be a shrader valve on the right side fuel rail that you can check pressure or just crack it to relieve pressure. If there is no pressure on the rail after sitting a while, it's probably the check valve in the fuel pump. But, if that were the case it wouldn't start right away after sitting a while.
I'm wondering if a sensor might be bad somewhere, but you mentioned no check engine light, so...????
