Southeast Iowa | I took out top gear in our 8410 pulling a set of 525 Parkers up a hill. I had done that MANY times previously, and so had my boss, so we have NO IDEA what caused it. It only cost 8,000 to fix.....(choke)....... $7945 to be exact. I SUSPECT that in top gear you have so little reduction through the gearing that the input side is loaded up way more than it is ever designed to be; it's a torque thing. Nobody ever expected the tractor to work that hard in "road" gear. | |
