| My ride is a ZX-12R Ninja. Not terribly light but has huge gobs of power and is heavy enough to go two up easily. A pair of hard bags on one would make a nice sport tourer. If you avoid the Hayabusa-abusing '00 model, they're supposed to be very civilized in a VFR-like manner, but with waaay more horsepower. Mine's the slightly harder-core 2000 model with no speed limiter. My next choice for a used SPORT-touring bike would be a GSX-R1100. Sporty, light, but not as nasty on the joints as the 750 or 1000. Not sure how hard-core wifey is for your pillion partner though. I've little experience with sporting v-twins, although I'd love to have a Ducati sitting in my garage. Or a new ZX-14 Concours...
