I think the last that I heard, a fella could import broiler manure for around $25 per ton (trailer load quantities). In raw nutrient form, it's worth way more than that.

Maryland is tough on anyone that is trying to make an honest living. Unfortunately, most of the one's dreaming up the all the regulations have gained their farming knowledge from Farmville.

The latest effort is too ban all manure applications on soybean ground. I thought we had a cover crop program designed to tie up excess nitrogen?

Fortunately, I have enough ground that I am still at a nutrient deficit even after using all my manure and my neighbor's.
