Any idea what the soil test had for nitrate numbers vs. ammonia nitrogen numbers? Most of the time with real tall beans you have a lot of nitrate to get vegetative growth. The ammonia nitrogen is what is needed for seed production. I have known a few guys to spray a weak acid when they want to help the conversion process. Seems to work some of the time.
