| I think marketing is one of our biggest and most important challenges.
University of Guelph and University Of Perdue Commissioned study on the buying habits of producers across North America.
Local dealer has replaced the local farmer as a source for information. Dealer will influence 15% of the farmers decision.
All dealers are equal. No one has a distinct advantage.
8% think farming is a way of life, 26% think it’s a business and 66% feel it is both.
87% of farmers want to maximize profitability, 62% want to reduce risk, 79% want to perform better and 65% want to pay down debt.
The biggest challenge for the producer is low commodity prices and the high cost of production.
6% of farmers think the best price is a fair price not the lowest price. Performance and quality at a fair price is what they are searching for.
The most important criteria when purchasing a product was price but performance came in a close second and brand name was least important.
Any thoughts????
