Dave, thank you for the grafts and your insight. Last sunday evening i relocated one of the sensors from the soil and put it about 2 ft above the canopy.
In this field there is a thick mat of rye and cheat grass residue so i don`t think there is a lot of evaporation going on but i could be wrong.
After all these years i am still learning.
