Sept is the theoretical first new crop month for MGEX, where July is for KC & Chi. My experience in MGEX says the only months you trade are Dec, Mach, July; May & Sept are always low OI, low liquidity, in an already low liquidity mkt & probably not a good gauge of anything most of the time.
I find this discussion on COT extremely interesting, thanks for adding.
