Southwest Illinois | We just rode the train to Chicago from STL and while there is still some variability the fields in Central IL have evened up a bunch. I suspect the continued rains are a a benefit to those stunted shallow rooted plants. I think dry weather would have hurt, but so far it has been avoided. And from Bloomington north stuff looks very good. Yes there are going to be cases of lower than "wanted" yields but I suspect most corn yields in IL will be at least average. Plus much of the southern 1/3 IL will be above average. | |
