NE IOWA/ SE SD | I locked mine in about 2 weeks ago...and protected the input making making some Dec 11 sales. Early June they (Coop guys) talked like N had some downside. I kept checking with them and they kept telling me the same thing. Then the June 30th report happened and all of a sudden they said N prices had some upside due to the sudden optimism in corn futures. I locked it all in and now I know that 100% of my N will cost me 18 bu. per acre ($72 per acre/$4 per bu......assuming 185 units/acre and 185 bu/ac 5 year average yield) | |
