North Central Illinois | SC, I for sure get what you are saying about killing the crop three times every year. The thing I can't help but wondering about is the fact that according to USDA reports we are in a totally different situation with corn now than we were a few weeks ago. Before the reduction in acres and stocks we could stand a less than record crop and still have a sizeable carryover. Now with things tightened up, just what size crop can we stand and still keep carryover between 1 billion to 1.5 billion? I am pretty dry where I am at but have been surrounded by rain lately. So, even though things are heating up it would appear that a rather large portion of the cornbelt is well watered and done pollinating. Chances are we will still be looking at a big crop, but what will the trade consider big enough? Should be interesting. | |
