Subject: Re: Lightning machinery question

SC
Lightning rods have a bad reputation because of slick salesmen from the old days but the science is sound. I built my house in an open field and had lightning rods installed and have never regretted it. I saw the ad for the company in an elec. coop magizine. They used quality copper materials and knew what they were doing. They were from Raleigh but said they spent most of their time in the Myrtle Beach area with all the new construction and tall buildings down there. The rods are only about 1 foot long so you don't notice them from far away. They just protect the structure so you can still have the chance of lightning coming in on power and phone lines.
