And IMO the later 60 series at 515 hp and 14 liter are dogs compared to the 12.7's @ 500 hp on both power and fuel economy. All the 14L's I've been around, ours included, sound like a jet engine idling.
I dont remember when the sn # break was , but most of the 14 L"s are egr , where alot of the 12.7"s are not egr .
Egr did not help the engine -imo .
I think the size was increased to compensate for the EGR .
