Talking with CaseIH last week and their precision guy, RTK is never likely to work in our area (I'm up by St. John/Lamont) or most of the Palouse. If you lose cell phone signal when in a draw, then you lose CORs signal. To do RTK you will realistically need line of site to a mobile base station, which means any draw/hill which cuts off one signal needs another one on it. I'd guess that the hills between Colton and Uniontown would cut off a tower placed by the gun club.

They did mention another technology (can't remember the name of it) which is in the works. It would increase accuracy above omnistar xp/hp, but is a few years away.

FYI, he said in our area Omnistar would work.
