You lose quite a bit, according to the info I have seen. As far as better yields, I had a place that a neighbor's trash fire got away on. It burned about 15 acres out of a 95 acre field. No difference in yield (upper 40's) on the yield monitor, and I just took a look at the yield map and could not see any difference. BUT I could tell cutting it that the ground was much harder in that area. I have been no-till about 5 years, with a similar rotation as yours, so I hated to lose the residue.
