Subject: Ear Molds

Schlegel Farms, Hagerstown Indiana
I should be an expert on these because I haven't sold a load of 2009 corn yet without a dock

The two main problems in 09 were Gibberella & Diplodia in this area. I've heard they live in the soil over winter.

The weather we have been having couldn't be any better for a mold to grow. When do these attack the corn...do you have to have an ear, or is it like some other disease's that attack when the plant is young and show up later?

.......... TIA ...................................Mark
