edgerton ks. | We retail our production at our farm store and we go to several farmers markets in the area. We occasionally wholesale excess to other farm vendors or MOM an POP grocery stores. The larger grocers all make you go through a wholesaler. Definately want to get retail dollar. If you want to grow wholesale you need to raise LARGE amount's of product to make much money. Marketing your production isn't to hard but one has to make contacts an find outlet's that are not always obvious. Considerabley more difficult than driving to the elevator an opening your hopper trap., Also there are storage issue's as in FRESH PRODUCE does not store! I find it enjoyable however and it is a good use of time for those summer months when not much is going on in rowcrop. | |
