There is pretty reliable data out there that is saying that the primary culprits for ear size reduction are surfactants and crop oils. If you are going to spray early, do not use surfactants or oils. As long as the silks are out pretty good, you should be safe. We have always sprayed between full tassle and brown silk with good results. We have averaged nearly 10 bushel advantage the last two years, although I would spray a bunch of it just far the harvest aids even if it didn't yield any better.
