SW Ohio | It depends on previous maintenance and parts replaced. Check your auger edges and bearings, chains and belts etc. Make sure the rotor,transition cone, concaves and grates are not too beat up by stones or fence posts.
Mostly stay with the 1460. The 1440 has a VERY much smaller axle in front, as are the trans. and finals. The front axle can be changed out for a 1460 axle but you need you need trans and finals changed at the same time to fit. It is a pretty big job. BTDT.
