If your AP wiring harness is part number 54601, which is the one I am familiar with, then find the 12 pin connector labeled something like P5 vehicle sensors. The only other 12 pin connector on the wiring harness is the display connector. This P5 connector is located on the wiring harness close to the P2 breakout, the two pin connector for switched power input for the AP controller. The footswitch connects between cavity 2 (red/wht wire) and cavity 7 (violet wire) on this P5 connector. So get yourself a normally open, press to close push-button switch of the correct size to mount on or near your joystick and put a deutsch DTM pin (1060-20-0122) on each wire lead from the switch and insert the pins into the P5 connector cavity 2 and cavity 7 and you should be able to do the same function as the footswitch. Make sure the wires to the switch do not short out to any other parts of the tractor. It is not a good idea to use other pins than the specified DTM pin that the connector is designed for. If you don't have the correct pins and crimp tool you might check with your dealer. He might be able to sell you a 2 wire cable (use 18 ga wire) with the pins attached. The biggest mechanical problem you might have is the copper wires in the cable to the remote switch on the joystick will be subjected to continuous flexing and may eventually break because of this flexing unless you use some very flexible copper wire with lots of strands that is rated for lots of flexes.
