Subject: land roller

north lancaster ontario
i borrowed a friends home-made 17.5' lander roller to flatten the ground after planting azukis beans. his roller is 3/8" thick the kind you would find from a gas pipeline. my question is it a good idea to make a bigger one (30'by 5/8"thick )my land is very flat compared to my buddies. i would pull this roller down the road by the end . the pipe is 278lbs per foot but im thinking its no heavier then a 150hp tractor on 4 wheels dualed up.i would not have to go out and purchase this pipe because the pipeline guys left a section of 50' as a crossing into one of my fields. id cut it down and leave the rest for the crossing.
thanks rob
