WC IL | Have seen the same problem in corn. First step, clean the backing plates. I used a mix of water and ammonia and a good, stiff brush. If they are really bad, you might need to soak them overnight to loosen things up. Probably need to remove the fingers to clean the cam, also. After everything is clean, reassemble, and use plenty of talc-graphite mix on the seed when you start planting again. Also, check with your seed supplier/ treater to see if they are using a polymer when they treat the seed. That will help quite a bit. | |
