The steering gear in the 9N is bevel gears, not a worm so it kick the steering wheel hard when a front tire hits a clod. There are wiring diagrams and original (or reproduction) operator's manuals available at some NH or Ford dealers and likely on line with full details. There isn't a whole lot of wiring to get messed up. I had an 8N and rewired it in an afternoon, I think. The 8N has one more gear in the transmission and uses a ball worm so it doesn't kick the steering wheel nearly so hard.
