Subject: Re: 95 H question

Davis Creek, CA
New Holland in my opinion are built to breakdown. Know a guy that has 3 585's (pre-BB900) just to have one baler working. Usually working on one all the time. But he has like 500 acres. The freeman design had its problems but may stay working longer than the NH????.

We run hesston 4690s which are the only ones to get in my opinion. I baled 45000 straw bales last year and only problems I had were when I forgot to tie the ends of the twine together.

If hesston is out for you then go with the freeman, but make them a real low offer because there are not many units around and the ones that are seem to be for sale. The biggest problem I had when I demoed the freeman was the engine stuck out the side and it was hard to see the bales coming out the back. Plus the cost at the time was $12000 more for a freeman than for the hesston. I have never owned a NH bb900 though. I will never own one either. Good luck.
