Ran a row head for several years before I got a flex. I found it cheap and used it to cut froze-down wheat. It's unbelievable how much easier it is to cut beans with a flex. You will sacrifice some flex ( the individual rows of the row head can move quite a ways) but the ability to cut any direction and not have to be dead on row is worth it. You will get more done in a day. By the way I cut out terraces with a 22 ft deere and it works fine.
