I am considering adding some horsepower to our equipment line up. I am considering a JD 8440 as the price and horsepower both fit my budget and horsepower needs. I would like to stay in the 175 to 250 horsepower region (200 is ideal) and $30K area. The 8440 I saw went for $23K and it looked to be decent shape but I am reluctant to buy at auction. I would like any suggestions you folks may have as well as clearing up the 40 series 50 series issue. Yeah, it HAS to be green and yellow. Most of the work for the tractor would be dragging a disc and harrows/culti-packer etc.
