Round up works . . . . What I do is, tracked skidsteer and mower . . . obviously, it needs to be semi-dry to support the skidsteer. I was working on my cattails today with the Cat/mower . . . generally two mowings is all it takes to kill them . . . 

Most of the time, reed canary grows back in place -
