I'll just throw in my two cents to those who have never rolled beans and don't know why anyone would. It started catching on here a few years ago, and I hired a neighbor kid to roll some new land last year than had more rocks on it than my other farms. This year I had him roll them all. There is no comparison when it comes to combing! With our wet fall, heads were pushing mud, root balls, etc and that field was the easiest combining field that I've ever been in! You can probably justify it by cutting closer and gaining yeild, or by not ingesting a rock, but as far as operator fatigue, it's worth it hands down. I'd buy my own, but he does it too cheap, and is there right when I call! From now on, they will all be rolled.
