check for air leaks around the lid and bottom of the hoppers....our planter is brand new and the only trouble i have had is one of the hinges is not tight enough of the lid and it only tightens up when the bulk fill fan pushes out on the lid...sometimes the latch doesnt catch. doesnt sound like your trouble...but its worth ckecking.
